Matthew’s Story:
The Legacy of Mr Beeson
Current owner, Matthew Salmon, started at Beeson Chartered Accountants straight out of high school – working part time and studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Tax) and a Bachelor of Arts (Mandarin Chinese and English Language Teaching).
The firm was founded in 1952 by T.V. Beeson, the future mayor of Onehunga (1968 – 74) and pillar of the community for more than 60 years.
Starting in technical roles before transitioning to client-facing roles, Matthew worked his way up to practice manager and junior partner.
In 2016, he bought out Mr Beeson and continues to run the firm in his name.
As a reminder of Mr Beeson’s legacy and the values he instilled in the practice, Mr Beeson’s mayoral chair still sits in Matthew’s office.
